Residential Solar Panels
Solar products for homes give you control over your home’s energy. During the daytime, your solar panels generate electricity that powers your home. Any excess energy is sold back to the grid. When the sun sets or on cloudy days, your system will automatically switch to drawing energy from the grid or stored battery power. Home solar panels work seamlessly, ensuring a smooth transition between power sources without any disruption to your daily routine.

Commercial Solar Panels
Commercial solar panels typically pay for themselves in 5 to 10 years, less than half of their warrantied lifespan. Many solar power systems for businesses can payback in less than 5 years with grants and economies of scale.

Government Incentives and Rebates
You may qualify for various incentive and rebate programs that can significantly reduce your solar installation costs. Many federal, provincial, and local programs offer financial benefits to encourage the switch to renewable energy. These savings can make solar more accessible and affordable for homeowners across the country.

FAQs
How does a solar panel system work?
Solar panels convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity. An inverter then changes DC into alternating current (AC), which powers your home. Any excess energy can be stored in batteries or sent back to the grid for credits.
Will solar work on cloudy or snowy days?
Yes. Solar panels still generate electricity in indirect sunlight—just at a lower output. Snow usually slides off panels due to their smooth surface, and light can still pass through thin layers of snow.
How much can I save with solar?
Savings depend on your energy usage, utility rates, system size, and available incentives. Many homeowners see a 50–90% reduction in electricity bills.
What is net metering?
Net metering allows you to send extra electricity your panels produce back to the utility grid in exchange for credits. These credits offset your electricity use at night or on cloudy days.
How long do solar panels last?
Most panels come with a 25–30 year performance warranty and can last even longer with minimal maintenance.
Do I still get an electricity bill with solar?
If your system doesn’t produce enough to cover 100% of your usage, you’ll still get a reduced bill. With net metering, some months you might even have a $0 bill.
Will solar increase my home’s value?
Studies show that homes with solar sell faster and at higher prices compared to non-solar homes, especially when the system is owned rather than leased.
Do I need to replace my roof before installing solar?
If your roof is in good condition and has at least 10–15 years of life left, you likely don’t need to replace it. If not, it’s best to address roofing before installation.
What maintenance do solar panels need?
Solar panels have no moving parts and require minimal maintenance. Occasional cleaning and annual inspections are usually enough to keep them performing efficiently.
Are there tax credits or rebates for solar?
Yes. In many regions, there are federal, state, or provincial tax credits, rebates, and incentive programs that can significantly lower installation costs.
